No Rest for Las Vegas Realtors!

No doubt about it, the Las Vegas market is heating up again. Even on Mother’s Day, clients were out looking at homes and making offers, and our agents are staying BUSY!

Debra Leatham, one of our top agents, just barely managed to sneak in a combo Mother’s Day Breakfast/birthday celebration for her husband Jim in the morning. But then she was off to the races for the rest of the week. (Debra is also a huge race aficionado, so the simile is apt.) Here’s just a brief snapshot of her week:

1.       Mother’s Day afternoon and evening she was showing properties all across the Las Vegas Valley, from Mountain’s Edge to Southern Highlands to Silverado Ranch.

2.       Monday Debra answered literally 100s of emails from over the weekend, called clients, loan officers and title companies to check statuses on closings, wrote up a contract for a property in Mountain’s Edge, and then went to deliver keys to some happy new homeowners and spent some time celebrating with them.

3.       Tuesday Debra picked up signed short sale documents from a client at South Point Casino, and then hand delivered those documents to Chicago Title. That was followed by a “Lunch and Learn” at Southern Fidelity Mortgage. Then she followed up on the listing status of some homes in Henderson, and met with Joan Konsdorf, a local property manager and real estate consultant concerning her search for investment properties for her client from China

4.       On Wednesday Debra met clients from Park City, Utah looking to purchase a home in the future in Las Vegas.  Together they visited homes near China Town area, then Legacy Golf course properties, and viewed some MacDonald Highlands homes, finishing off with other properties in the South part of town near the South Point Casino. She took her clients to dinner at PT Pub (big spenders!) for 1/2 price pizza and beer.

5.       On Thursday morning Debra met another set of clients and showed more property in Mountains Edge, and wrote an offer on one of the homes there. She made time for a quick lunch with girlfriends at Brio in the Town Square and then was off again, delivering outdoor furniture for a client from Australia to one of the  properties that he closed on recently located near the Las Vegas Country Club.  She also delivered keys to the property manager for another property her Australian had already purchased in the Hollywood Hills section of town near the LDS Temple. At the end of the evening she stopped at RideNow sports, an ATV store, to exchange a gift from Mother’s day, and pick up a JC Penney card for her husband (belated birthday gift).

6.       On Friday Debra spent the morning concentrating on new client follow ups and touched base on an anticipated closing for the sale of a property in Calico Ridge. Friday evening she attended a friend’s birthday that will included dinner at Sonoma Cellar at the Sunset Station Casino and music and dancing at the Club Fortune in Henderson.

7.       On Saturday Deb was hoping to have time to do a bit of long overdue yard work (and pouting since the tire on her ATV been replaced yet so she cannot go back to Overton Trails, in Overton NV.)  But duty called, and instead she spent the day running around with still more clients, writing yet more offers.

So if you think the Las Vegas housing market isn’t busy, think again! This is just one week in the life of one agent, and the rest are just as jammed.
